About Inoculation

“Inoculation” is a compilation of stories from life in a research laboratory. All of you who have been in this environment at some point in your life know the quirks that come along with the work and the people that also exist in the lab.

We invite you to share your stories from your research experience. Your learned lessons fuel this community and provide us all a way to chuckle after that 10th repeat of an experiment, for which you stayed late into the evening to retrieve the results, only to succumb to another failure. With the imbalance of positive results comes the need for humor. This is our gift to you.

The creator of “Inoculation” has worked in a research lab for the past 5 1/2 years and has surely shared in the ups and downs of academic research. There have been comings and goings of people from every walk of life. The young undergraduate students with Nobel prizes in their eyes, the seasoned graduate students with that knowing look in their eyes, the master technicians trudging from room to room, the knowledgeable investigators with award winning ideas. All of these people make up the wonderful world of research. These are the people that inspire the stories you read here.
